Eichold-Heustis Medical Museum
Medical museum featuring a number of excellent medical models
Category Medical Museums
The Eichold-Heustis Medical Museum houses the largest medical collection in the Southeast, displaying 200 years of the medically obsolete, the primitive and the innovative, the bizarre and the commonplace--all of which contributed, in small or large ways, to modern medicine.
One of most the interesting items on display is the larger-than-life anatomical model for the Medical College of Mobile and the painstakingly accurate papier-maché model of the autonomic nervous system, copied from an 1854 Hirschfeld atlas.
