The Fairy Ring is a permanent outdoor art installation that consists of more than 100 cast fiberglass mushrooms inspired by fungi from around the world. Each mushroom has an internal light that creates a soft glow around it, and is intended to create a whimsical experience for people of all ages.
The ring was built by local artist Meredith Connelly and commissioned by EDENS, the community-centric developer behind South End’s beloved historic Atherton Mill. Connelly invites viewers to step inside the ring to create their own story and enjoy this small grassy oasis within Charlotte’s busy South End neighborhood.
