commented on Mount Trashmore
When I was younger, I'd say about eight years ago, a radio host made an on-air announcement that somehow the layer of rubber shielding the public from the toxic waste beneath the mountain was somehow punctured. It caused wide-spread panic. The public went into a frenzy. People left their jobs, picked up their children from school, and just drove out of town. This was before cell phones took hold, so even after the host came back on the air and announced it was all bogus and apologized for his remiss in announcing this people had no way to hear him once they were out of his stations airwaves. I remember my next-door neighbor being away for days.
What an amazing April Fool's Day.
