Visit NYC's Oldest Magic Shop After Dark
Visit the oldest magic shop in New York City after hours for a special performance.
Hidden on the 6th floor of an unassuming office building in Herald Square,
Tannen’s Magic Shop is the oldest continually running magic shop in New York City. Inside there are sprawling bookshelves, colorful boxes, and hundreds of drawers with mysterious labels. I’ll take you through the space, telling some of the store’s most curious historical anecdotes and performing some of Tannen’s bestselling tricks from the 1930’s. I’ll serve drinks and we’ll sit together around a circular table lit by a single overhead lamp for an interactive magic show.
This experience takes place at New York City’s oldest operating magic shop, Tannen's, which has been supplying magicians with tricks and style since 1925. Some of the curiosities you can expect to find at the shop include invisible paint, multiplying billiard balls, “pure smoke,” the “Emperor’s Orange Box,” hundreds of versions of rabbit producing hats, magic canes, dice, and cards.
