Angels Rest, located within Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, is a magical place. The sanctuary describes it as a celebration of “the everlasting bond that all of us share with animals.”

Nestled in a majestic red canyon, a soothing white hum greets visitors from the countless wind chimes located around the cemetery. Wandering through the thousands of memorials and reading the messages, memories, and tributes is certain to make visitors smile, cry, and serve as a powerful reminder of how much animals enrich our lives.

Know Before You Go

Angels Rest is several miles past the sanctuary’s welcome center on a graded road. You can stop at the welcome center if you choose or can continue past and visit Angels Rest on your own. It seems like a long way, but keep going. There is clear signage when you get there. Angels Rest is on the left with parking directly across from the gate on the right.

The paths are comprised of gravel and pavers, so there are uneven surfaces but it should be easy to get around for individuals with limited mobility. Benches are scattered throughout.
