About

The Bachman-Wilson house is a perfect example of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian architecture and is free for all to see. Surprisingly small, the house's hallways are just wide enough for one adult to squeeze through.

Wright constructed his houses around the concept of low-cost living that centered directly around the needs of the residents. The Bachman-Wilson House has tons of interesting details that have to be seen in person to be appreciated. Several of which are unique solutions that address the challenges of living in such as small space. Wright was truly ahead of his time.

The house was originally built in New Jersey. In 2014, the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art announced its acquisition of the home and subsequent move to the museum's campus tucked away in the Ozarks.

Know Before You Go

Bachman-Willson House is located on the campus of the Crystal Bridges Museum of Art. Due to the house's small structure, tickets are required to ensure that capacity isn't exceeded. Self-guided tour tickets are free; however, guided tours cost $10 + tax.

Taking pictures from the interior is not allowed.
