Driving down North Parkway towards Crosstown Concourse, drivers might not notice the five giants nestled in the grass off to the right.
Constructed in 2011 by Rhodes College students, the "Big Kids" sculptures are large and low to the ground. Some are lying propped up on their elbows, others are leaning back on their hands. The statues have flower planters installed in their heads. When the flowers are in full bloom, the sculptures are given a colorful head of hair. Unmarked and unobtrusive, the Big Kids look like any other trail-goer out enjoying the Memphis sunshine.

Know Before You Go
The easiest way to find the sculptures is by walking the V&E Greenline. The V&E Greenline, which follows an old railway behind a quiet Midtown neighborhood, runs 1.7 miles from North Watkins Street to Springdale. The path is frequented by runners, walkers, and cyclists. The quickest way to reach the Big Kids is to pick up the trail on Stonewall Avenue, between North Parkway and Faxon Avenue, and walk west. Take caution if walking on the V&E Greenline after dark.
