About

In a city full of flashy, mixologist-led bars, Bound, located in a relatively nondescript block among neighborhood eateries and knick-knack shops of Kowloon, is a refreshing antidote. Not to say that this low-fi hangout doesn’t make a proper drink—it just does so without taking itself too seriously. It’s one of the few places you’ll find cocktails made with Chinese liquors, from the traditional rice-based Yuk Bing Siu, to Magnolia, a recent local invention featuring Chinese medicinal herbs.

If you’re not in the mood for cocktails, there’s an excellent rotation of craft beers, both imported and local, on tap, bottled, or canned, as well as mocktails, and a neat menu of Asian-inspired dishes, from Okinawan taco rice to Sichuan fried chicken. Stop by any time of day (they also do great coffees)—it’s the kind of place where anything goes and you certainly wouldn’t be judged for day-drinking.
