About

In an alley not far from the Swope Museum, the Indiana Theater and assorted other treasures of our world, a bronze marker records a key transition in the development of the Tehachapic system. And it also underscores that the Tehachapi were able to lay down roads in multiple dimensions, though they tended to focus on those where the acoustics were more satisfying.

The Tehachapi were the great road-building culture of Kcymaerxthaere and had crossed many rezhns to escape their native Estrelliia (the initial 'k" is neither written nor pronounced) after they were defeated at the Battle of the Devil's Marbles.

The marker is part of Kcymaerxthaere, an art project created by Eames Demetrios. A series of plaques and other markers around the world honor events that have taken place in a parallel universe that, according to Demetrios, "co-exists to some degree with ours.” Most of these installations are bronze or stone plaques inscribed with stories but some are larger, even entire buildings. As of 2021, there are more than 140 sites spread across six continents and 30 countries.
