About

This small tribute to one of Paris' most popular attractions stands proudly within a small Canadian town. It's basically a scaled-down version of the iconic tower, but with a fraction of the crowds.

In the 1890s, wealthy French settlers colonized the land now known as Montmartre, Saskatchewan. They named the village after the Parisian district they once called home.

The connection between the Canadian village and the French city has remained strong throughout the years. During the 21st century, town officials decided to take the connection one step further and rebrand Montmartre as the “Paris of the Prairies.”

And of course, no Paris is complete without the Eiffel Tower. Montmartre’s version of the landmark was completed in 2009. It’s an exact replica of the tower, though it clocks in at only 1/38th of its size.

It should also be noted that the original Eiffel Tower does not actually stand in Montmartre, France, but a different district of Paris.
