About

If you want to walk from Frankfurt's downtown to the neighborhood of Sachsenhausen, consider using this wonderful pedestrian bridge. Although the Eiserner Steg is one of several bridges that spans across the Main River, the river that intersects Frankfurt's Sachsenhausen and downtown, it is the only walking bridge. It's also the site for thousands of locks of love.

The views are fantastic, particularly the view of the downtown skyline, "Mainhatten".  Also beautiful is the view of the museums that line the Main River in Sachsenhausen (colloquially called Museumufer, or Museum River Bank).  Frankfurt is a very walkable city and residents and tourists alike use this bridge.
