About

On the side of the 180 freeway, about 25 kilometers east of Mérida in Yucatan, Mexico is a vast field of whimsical parade floats and theme park sets from all of your favorite childhood stories, from Santa Claus to Star Wars and Mario Brothers to The Little Mermaid. Some are in relatively new condition, but most have clearly taken a beating from the pounding hot sun.

There is what looks to be a residential building on the property, but it doesn't seem occupied any longer.

Know Before You Go

There is a small pull-off from the freeway if you're heading West on the 180 freeway. Slow down before approaching because if you miss the turn-off, you will have to drive quite a long way west, turn around headed east, pass the location, and turn around again to come back for a second attempt. Mexico freeways have large dividers that you can't cross over.
