About
Santa Paula has a rich history of agriculture dating back centuries, and many generations of farmworkers have made the city in Southern California a haven for fruits and vegetables. This community-driven memorial was founded to honor the thousands of individuals who have spent many backbreaking hours dedicated to the harvest of produce to feed Americans for centuries.
When it debuted in 2010, it was the first monument dedicated to farmworkers in the United States. The monument includes two bronze statues of farm laborers in front of a sandstone wall, which features a blazing sun and the engraved names of workers.
