Suntec City shopping mall in the heart of Singapore city has tucked away in its basement, a fountain that, when constructed, was the largest fountain in the world. This status was awarded by the Guinness Book of Records in 1998.

The Fountain of Wealth is part of the Suntec City shopping and commercial complex. The fountain is in the center of a development which is surrounded by five tower blocks, these represent fingers and the fountain forms the palm of the hand. The silicon bronze ring is more than 200 feet (66 meters) in circumference and the fountain has a height of 42 feet (13.8 meters). At night the fountain is lit up and there are nightly music and light shows.

The design is symbolic with the large bronze ring representing oneness in spirit and unity, symbolizing the equality and harmony of all races and religions in Singapore.

Know Before You Go

The circular ring is visible from ground level and there are steps down to the basement area where the center of the fountain is located.
