About
The Grand Bazaar of Tabriz has existed at the same site since the days of the Silk Road.
The current bazaar covers nearly 70 acres and contains shops for produce, spices, jewelry, hand-woven rugs, clothing, shoes, and metal handicrafts. Each of these goods can be found in distinct parts of the bazaar complex with separate entrances and corridors. There are also restaurants and places for worship inside the bazaar, demonstrating its continued relevance to the local community.
The bazaar has undergone conservation and protection efforts since its addition to the World Heritage List in 2010.
