About
The sight of Toni Latour's white neon call to action, Let's Heal the Divide, towers over Edmonton's 118 Avenue. It manages to be surprising even though it occupies such a large space, perhaps because it is nestled on the east side of the Nina Haggerty Centre and is only visible when traveling in one direction.
In contrast to the other busy and multi-colored public art in the area, this wall is solid green. This simplicity lends to the impact of the statement it makes. Installed in 2021, it appeared at an extremely divisive time in Canada and in the world. This artwork was originally displayed in Vancouver from 2015-17 before it found its home in Edmonton.

This piece provides a different experience during the day and night. At dusk you get the impact of the neon sign lit up while still being able to see its contrast against the massive green wall it's mounted on.
