Jack Norworth Memorial Marker
The final resting place of the songwriter who penned “Take Me Out To The Ball Game."
Jack Norworth Memorial Marker
Jack Norworth, the author of the 1908 American baseball anthem, “Take Me Out To The Ball Game,” died in 1959 and was buried half a mile from where Angel Stadium would be built in 1966, at the Melrose Abbey Cemetery in Anaheim, Orange County, California.
In the hopes of saving a little piece of history and recognizing this man, concerned fans got together in 2010 and built a memorial for Norworth near the gravesite. A large piece of black granite now stands about 100 feet from his headstone, with a photo of the songwriter, and the lyrics to his beloved song.
