About

Jack Norworth, the author of the 1908 American baseball anthem, "Take Me Out To The Ball Game," died in 1959 and was buried half a mile from where Angel Stadium would be built in 1966, at the Melrose Abbey Cemetery in Anaheim, Orange County, California.

In the hopes of saving a little piece of history and recognizing this man, concerned fans got together in 2010 and built a memorial for Norworth near the gravesite. A large piece of black granite now stands about 100 feet from his headstone, with a photo of the songwriter, and the lyrics to his beloved song.
