Around 2008 a group of enthusiasts came together to introduce the history of the Second World War. They collected a variety of historical materials and artifacts and also tried exploring the remaining post-World War II German fortifications around Klaipeda (formerly known as Memel).
Located in a German bunker by Giruliai Beach, Memel-Nord Museum is a monument to Klaipeda’s history. You will be able to travel back in time, feel the real spirit, see the life of the bunker and explore real artifacts, such as uniforms, bombs, and food boxes. You are usually welcomed by three superb fanatic “guides” who show you around and tell you stories.
