About
From the 1920s through the 1950s, the Ahukini Terminal Railroad transported sugar and pineapple along a narrow gauge track to Ahukini Landing at Hanama-ulu Bay. The last train on this railroad ran in 1959, and today, just two bridges of the Ahukini Terminal Railroad remain, crossing the Moikeha Canal.
The mauka (“towards the mountain”) bridge is in its original condition and the makai (“towards the ocean”) is being used as a foundation for a footpath for bikers and walkers.
