A whimsical monument to the writer Jules Verne. Though Verne visited Vigo a few times, Vigo’s bay is locked into literary memory in 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea where Captain Nemo’s Nautilus paused on its marine journey.
At the spot, overlooking the bay, Verne sits, with a book in hand among the tentacles of the nemesis of the crew of The Nautilus.
