The former Munich Olympiastadion in northern Munich was erected for the 1972 Summer Olympics. The new station was constructed to cope with the massive influx of visitors to the city by providing additional transportation hubs. The station was officially decommissioned in 1988 after sporadic use since the Olympics. All that remains is a ghost train station, covered in plant life and graffiti. Â
Know Before You Go
Although abandoned, there are several ways to reach the station via bus, train, or subway.Â
