About
The world's largest steer, born and raised in southeast Montana from 1923-1938, now has his forever home in the former Fallon County Jail building.
Steer Montana toured the country back in the day at over 60 state fairs and shows nationwide with his own light plant, electric fan, and custom-made trailer. Nearly a century later, visitors to O'Fallon Historical Museum can still marvel at this bovine beast, admiring both his taxidermied mount and his full skeleton.
If you're lucky, the museum staff will share stories with you about other "skeletons" in the former jail (built in 1916), including the sheriff who met his demise in the building. There are six buildings of history to peruse in this museum complex, but this beefy beauty raises the steaks.
