About

A flowy single-lane trail through Aspen forests and pine tree glades. This trail has a random treehouse perch to take a short break on before coming to the main giant attraction, the giant metal paper airplane that looks as if it was left by giants. The paper airplane sculpture sits on the top of a mountain, which you can see hiding between trees on the drive up through the windy canyon roads. The views of Powder Mountain and Eden are breathtaking from the sculpture and the trail features beautiful wildflowers.

The sculpture was created by artist Griffin Loop. It's one of several massive metal sculptures in the easily-recognizable shape of a folded paper airplane. Loop calls the series "Launch Intention," and hopes that it inspires people to set off in pursuit of their goals. As he told the Aspen Times in 2020, “it’s a platform for people to set intention, share it and launch it into action, activated around large-scale sculptures of paper airplanes."
