Taghazout Community Skatepark
A home for skateboarders with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean in Morocco.
This volunteer-built skatepark was constructed by over 100 helping hands from 22 countries, allowing a safe skate space for travelers and locals.
The community has existed since 2017, launched by MakeLifeSkateLife. Veterans of the sport—some with over 35 years of experience—teach the next generation. Locals are encouraged to learn and given boards and protective gear.
Many of the locals describe getting headaches when it’s 4 p.m. and they haven’t had the chance to skate yet. This is their home to unwind, meet friends, exchange languages, and skate beneath the sun or full moon.
The skate park has views across Taghazout and the endless North Atlantic Ocean. It is also home to many free events such as skate competitions, music, BBQs, and the occasional projection cinema within the park.
Know Before You Go
To reach it: follow the main road through Taghazout and follow the walking trail opposite the Anwal Morocco Restaurant. It is indicated by signs and blue arrows. Be prepared for 15 minutes of steep climb, with view to take your mind off it.
Alternatively, by car, you can park at the top, taking a turning off the N1.
