About
Located in a suburb of Cork, Ireland, this cemetery has a curious and mysterious past. The earliest recorded burial that took place here dates back to the late 17th century—and it was the first Duke of Grafton’s intestines (his body was shipped back to England). Other burial markers appear to be from the 18th century and include both Catholic and Protestant burials. Local lore has it that the cemetery dates back to the medieval period and was once affiliated with the Knights Templar, but that has not been proven.
