About

The James Dean Museum has the world's largest collection of movie icon, James Dean's, personal belongings.

James Dean was raised by his aunt and uncle in the town of Fairmount, Indiana. The family has donated, James Dean’s motorcycles, acting awards, movie props and costumes, scripts, racing trophies, drawings, paintings, and sculptures by Dean, rare photographs, rare letters, high school papers and projects, wardrobe, and even baby clothes all owned by James Dean. The items on display here are saved from his entire life of only 24 years and it is as if his family knew he was destined to become an American icon.   When visiting the museum, take time to talk with the director. She has a world of knowledge about James Dean and will share with great passion his life story and direct you to his grave site, the family farm where he was raised, and other points of interest for James Dean fans.   The James Dean Museum is an incredible collection unlike anything else you will ever see for the famed, young actor.
