About

This wall is not easy to find as it is on a tiny residential street. Those who are lucky enough to discover it, whether they are tourists or locals, often block the entrances to nearby apartment buildings trying to parse this lengthy poem, which is Arthur Rimbaud's lengthy masterpiece, "The Drunken Boat," written when he was only a teenager.  The location for the poem was selected as it is near the site where Rimbaud first recited the poem circa 1871.  The poem was first painted on the wall in 2012 using funds raised by the French Government and a Dutch foundation of poetry lovers.
