About
Although Zion Square in West Jerusalem is usually very crowded, people rarely notice one of the city's smallest monuments right in front of them. A manhole cover with the imprint of artist Micha Ullman's right hand sits near the square. The monument is one-half of a pair. The other cover features the artist's left hand and can be found on Les Freres street in the old city of Jerusalem.
The sculptures are meant to be an expression of the divide between the two parts of the city, and an attempt to reunite.
