About
The Wynwood Walls sit at the heart of Wynwood Art District, located in Miami, Florida, and display an expansive collection of street art and graffiti done by renowned artists from around the world. Visitors roam through the park, situated right behind the Wynwood Kitchen and Bar, and snap pictures with masterpieces done by the likes of Fafi, Ron English, and most notably, Shepard Fairey, the artist behind Obama’s 2008 HOPE campaign posters. The artistic styles of the giant murals range from modern and edgy to classical, with some being downright trippy. Images of Hulk-like babies, visually arresting depictions of the female form, and a mural constructed entirely of flowers are just a few works that adorn the Wynwood Walls.
Wynwood Art District draws a younger, hipper crowd than many other parts of Miami, and this is reflected in the celebration of street art throughout the neighborhood. Founded in 2009 by Tony Goldman, the Wynwood Walls were seen as a way to incorporate the spirit of graffiti into an area of Miami that was lacking in a cultural draw. The space offers a calming, colorful oasis, in which patrons can freely roam about and admire the large-scale works of art painted onto each wall. The park is free and open to the public every day. Enjoy dinner on the outside patio at the Wynwood Kitchen and Bar and take a nighttime stroll amongst the illuminated walls afterward for a perfect sultry Miami night.
