Early in my collecting career, I understood that simply putting toghether objects into a heap, also calling it a collection, was not likely to be sufficient. I desired a richer relationship to the art, the artist, the art world. So began my life as an arts patron. The expression sounds very intimidating, creating expectations that to qualify, an individual must fund a wing or endow a seat. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are so many ways to assist creators whose artwork you find compelling, and art museums and other cultural institutions you find valuable to your schooling in the art realm.
