Video Wonder: Japanese Split Racing
If you’ve always been jealous of people who can do the splits, split racing may not be the sport for you. But there’s something undeniably incredible about the movements of the loose-limbed woman in the video above, who subsequently nabs the world record for split racing.
What is split racing, you ask? It’s a Japanese sport that is…hard to describe. Essentially, two competitors propel themselves across the floor while maintaining the split position. There is lots of leg wriggling involved, but clearly, there is also something to the wobbly arm movements that the winning contestant makes–maybe it really is just all in the wrist?
