Sexual Fluidity Beneath the Sea
Come enjoy cocktails, listen to speakers from the LGBT community, and learn how many of the species beneath our seas change sex, gender roles, and use forms of asexuality to survive at Heal the Bay Aquarium.
We’ll begin the night's festivities with an introduction of the Aquarium and the gender diversity of its local marine inhabitants by Associate Aquarium Director, Laura Rink, followed by a special guest speaker of the LGBTQ community. Then guests will be free to mingle among the tanks and pools, where Aquarium staff will be on hand to discuss specific sexually fluid animals in intimate detail. A scavenger hunt will be provided for those wishing to participate, with an end of the night raffle to win awesome Heal the Bay swag.
Our fluidity theme extends to the realm of libations as well! Each adult guest will receive one complimentary drink ticket to choose from a selection of specially themed cocktails. Additional cocktails will be available to purchase at the cash bar.
Heal the Bay Aquarium is a small community aquarium uniquely located beneath the Santa Monica Pier, just steps away from the Santa Monica Bay. Guests will be treated to the rare opportunity of experiencing the aquarium during after dark hours when it is typically closed to the public. As a bonus, guests may get to observe unique activity from some of our nocturnal animals waking up from their daytime naps.

The Heal the Bay Aquarium is a hidden gem, and as such, it can be hard to locate. We are not on the Santa Monica Pier, but beneath it, directly below the historic carousel.
