Danish architect Jørn Utzon never really revealed the inspiration for his modern, striking design of the Sydney Opera House. Some see sails, others shells, or palm fronds—whatever you see, it is a masterwork. Notably, Utzon resigned his position overseeing the project some seven years before it was completed, over disagreements about the practicality and cost of his design.
