About

Located next to the Campbeltown Museum on Hall Street in the center of Campbeltown, Argyll and Bute resides the Lady Linda McCartney Memorial Garden. The tribute was created by friends of the American photographer and musician Linda McCartney, wife of musician Sir Paul McCartney. Linda played a very important role in helping the musician become a success.

The couple lived together in a home at the nearby High Park farm following their marriage in 1969. Tragically, Linda died from breast cancer in 1998 and her ashes were scattered across the local Kintyre area. Following her death, a charitable trust was formed that raised funds for the local community.

The garden was created within a sheltered space beside the local museum. It's filled with a bright variety of flowers and provides a quiet space for rest and contemplation. The centerpiece of the garden is a life-size bronze statue of Linda donated by Sir Paul and sculpted by Jane Robbins.

Most lifetime Campbelltown residents will tell stories about how they met Linda or Paul while going about their daily activities. The garden is a popular place to relax and pay respects to Linda.
