These two little gems can be found venturing through Carnfunnock Country Park, or while strolling down Newington Avenue. These mini-libraries are part of an international book reading community called, Little Free Library. The organization is one of the world’s largest book-sharing movements and aims to build communities, spark creativity, and inspire readers.
The library constructed in the park was designed by local primary school children as part of a project to build better communities. These libraries are just two of several similar installations popping up across Northern Ireland. Others have sprung up in towns such as Armagh, Carrickfergus, Bangor and many more.
