About
Established in 1963, the Pioneer Settlement Museum was the first outdoor museum in Australia. Comparable to Williamsburg, Virginia and other historical re-enactment towns, Australia's Pioneer Settlement attempts to recreate a dusty, outback town of the early 1900's.
With its 50 historic buildings, Australian saloon (complete with player piano), historic equipment, machinery and household items, it transports the visitors into the past.
Keep your eye out for the Kaiser Stereoscopic Theatre, an 1890's 3D movie theatre.
