About
Dedicated to the men and women of the historic sit-down strike of 1936-1937 at General Motors in Flint, Michigan. The marble and bronze monument depicts a scene from inside the plant during the strike, which was the first major labor dispute in the U.S. auto industry. It has been called "the strike heard round the world."
The monument sits in the middle of Sitdowners Park and was created by sculptor Janice Trimpe.
