Jonathan Mingle is a freelance writer and author of "Fire and Ice: Soot, Solidarity and Survival on the Roof of the World," a nonfiction narrative about the global health and climate impacts of black carbon pollution, and one ancient Himalayan village's struggle to overcome them.
His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Slate, The Boston Globe, and other publications. He is a former Middlebury Fellow in Environmental Journalism, a recipient of the American Alpine Club’s Zack Martin Breaking Barriers Award, and an occasional adjunct instructor at the Zanskar Ski School.
