Nestled in the heart of wine country in Chablis France lies a rather unusual homage to viticulture. Alain Geoffray, owner of the sprawling Geoffray wine estate, has amassed a collection of more than 4,900 corkscrews and more than 4,000 items related to wine making, all of which are on display in a small museum.

Some of the corkscrews date back as far as the 18th century. And while some are rather pedestrian, these corkscrews come in all shapes and sizes, including a few rather risqué additions. Wander through the eight rooms festooned with old tapestries, decanting machines, and other devices that look like they belong in a torture chamber, then sample Chablis from the estate’s vineyards.
