About
The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is an art museum dedicated to the offbeat, particularly with self-taught builders of artist-environments.
Established in 1967, The Kohler Arts Center has long concentrated on vernacular, or "outsider," artists who are self-taught. They work closely with the Kohler Foundation to preserve many of the artist-built environments "in situ" when possible, while others which must be moved from their locales are often exhibited in the gallery space.
