The Hotel Belvédère, nestled in the Swiss Alps, was renowned for its views of the Rhône Glacier. But as the glacier receded dramatically over the past decades, so did its number of visitors. Today, the hotel is shuttered. Drivers en route to the melting glacier still stop to take pictures of the building and its mountainous backdrop.
